Whenever I create a DVD using Movie Factory 3 with all patches applied, the audio starts off in synch, but by the end of the DVD, the audio is about 3 seconds in front of the video. And that is on a 30 minute MPEG. I've tried multiple times using multiple MPEGs. All MPEGS are in synch when played on the PC using various MPEG applications, including Ulead player and MF3 preview. I'm running XP SP2. I used to run XP SP1 and MF2 with NO problems. Any ideas?
UPDATE -
I've tried MPEG's from various sources: TV capture from Hauppauge Tuner card, downloading MPEG's from Internet, and converting AVIs to MPEG's using TMPGENc. All MPEG's played on PC fine, but were still out of synch when burned to DVD using MF3. Also tried Videoredo, but that just made the MPEG's more out of synch. So finally, I tried Sonic's MYDVD 6, and that WORKED GREAT. Although MF3 has many more features, and is easier to use, it doesn't mean much when it doesn't work. Now I'm going to look at other Sonic products to see if something has more features than MYDVD.

I had been using VideoStudio 7se and MovieFactory 2se without any synch issues for months. After I upgraded to VideoSudio 8 and MovieFactory 3 I had synch problems using both versions of VideoStudio and MovieFactory.
I restored my computer to a point before having installed VideoStudio 8 and MovieFactory 3 and was able to burn without synch problems with both VideoStudio 7se and MovieFactory 2se.
Next I reinstalled VideoStudio 8 and MovieFactory 3 WITH OUT ANY UPDATES . I then was able to burn with out any synch issues using both versions of each program. I even used MovieFactory 3 to convert the audio to ac3 without synch problems.
So my conclusion is that the sych problem was a result of one (or a combination) of the updates. I had originally installed updates to all of my Ulead products at the time I originally installed VideoStudio 8 and MovieFactory 3.
When I have more time I will experiment by installing an upgrade, make a test burn, install another .....and so on, until I can identify when the synch problem starts.

Re: DVD audio out of synch with video
I'm having the same issue. whenver I use the "multi-trim" function to split up a large file onto multiple DVD's.
How can they expect anyone to drop $70 on this product if it does not even work?
fyi: i am just using the trial version. Pretty simple math..if it does not work..i dont buy it.

One of the biggest causes of the audio sync problem is having dropped
frames in the video. It only takes 1 frame. Where ever the frame has been
dropped is where the audio slowly starts drifting ahead of the audio.
If you load the video or record it and it's a compliant dvd video MF3 should
immediately say "Multiplexing" at the dvd creation stage. If it doesn't do this
and takes very very long it's re-rendering the video. Then if the video has
any dropped frames the video will be out sync. Also MF3 puts an "X" in the
upper right corner of a video that it feels is not dvd-compliant.
Yes, this is a bug in the program as experienced by so many ulead users.
Seems to have been in one of the updates.
I have switched to using "MainActor" from MainConcept for any editing that
must be done to a mpg2 file.
As suggested by the experts a program called "VideoReDo" can correct
these problems in the Mpg2 file.
I don't know if "VideoReDo" will extract the Mpg2 files from the dvd.
You can download a trial version:
