Hello, I am an administrator at Texas Christian University. Currently our school's computers all have NERO and we were thinking of switching to Ulead MF because of the issues Nero has posed. However, after a trial run with the program this week, I'm not sure this is a better choice. Does anyone know of a good DVD Creator program? As our students are becoming more and more technologically savvy, it is imperative that we can provide them with this software!
I do like the ULEAD program and think it would be easy for students to navigate, but whenever I try to use ULEAD, I receive an error at the burn stage: "Converting step got some problems." Not only is this incorrect English, but it seems to be an unsolved issue. After spending two hours downloading patches and updates, the issue remains. I also did some research and it seems that this problem dates all the way back to June. PErhaps Ulead should be called ULeftBehind. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Another administrator who also is testing the product said that he received an error message which read: "Load from Stream Error." Has anyone heard of this issue?
If anyone knows of quick solutions to these problems or a better program we could bring to the board, please let us know.
Thank you
Got some solutions?

You really need the students to USE the software and not troubleshoot it.
MyDVD Version 6 from Sonic is a nice program and also in line with
uleads prices.
Technically for a school one should be using something in the line
of "Sonic Foundry" "Vegas 5" along with "Dvd Architect 2".
Both the above programs are well written computer code.
Even though the programs are more expensive than Ulead you simply
get what you pay for and the students should receive what they have
paid for in tuition.
You want the students to learn video editing and dvd production correct?
Not computer troubleshooting.
Hope this helps,
MD

Dear cptcu:
I think you can contact Ulead Tech Support to ask for help. You will get faster response if you phone them. I believe they will be happy to help you.
North & Sourth American users please call:
1 (310) 896-6391, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm PST
However, I'm interested in the source video/audio files you use. Can you let us know the file properties of the source files??
Hope this helps.
