How do I delete an audio track recorded with the video?

Post by frank3201 »

I have VideoStudio 10 Plus.

Unfortunately, when I record a scene to my *.mov file, the camera
microphone (which cannot be turned off) picks up all sorts of camera
noises.

Is there anyway to delete this entire track and add a more
appropriate track during the editing process?

Thanks for your help..

Not sure about the exact steps in VS but you have to use the "Split" function to split video and audio and then delete the audio, or adjust the volume to zero.

Hi

Just select the clip in the timeline and mute the audio.
(loudspeaker icon adjacent to the digital clock)

Splitting audio does the same, it mutes the video track and creates an audio file in the voice track, you then have to delete the audio file.
Just mute the video track.

Now add a Wav file to one of the audio tracks.

I wish we had more than just one voiceover track.

I'm using VS10+. After we split and delete the audio from a video clip is there a way to add a new audio track back into the video clip?

Hi

There are two audio tracks below the main video track.

1 / a Voice Track
2 / a Music Track.

You can import sound files to these tracks, use *.wav files, Mp3 files can be used but may give problems.
You can drag sound clips to these tracks from the audio library.

Once you have completed the editing, Share Create Video File will produce a complete file of your work.
Combining all the tracks together in one file.

Ok, so to put a new or different audio track into a video clip so it doesn’t tie up the voice or music project tracks I need to open a new project and render the two into a new video clip and then move the new combined clip back into the full project - neat, thanks for the help Trevor. :D
