I am using DVD Movie Factory 3 Disc Creator. I started a new project by adding a video file with the following settings:
file format: NTSC DVD
Video type: MPEG-2, upper field first
Attributes: 24 bits, 352x480, 4:3
frame rate: 29.97
data rate: VBR max of 4037kbps
audio type: MPEG Audio Layer 2 files
attributes: 48000 hz, 16 bit, stereo
layer: 2
bit rate: 256 kbps
I went to project settings, change MPEG settings, in order to change my project settings to equal the above video file settings. After changing the settings I made sure there is a checkmark at the "do not convert compliant MPEG files". There is no checkmark in the "treat MPEG audio as non-DVD compliant". When I then hit OKAY, the following error message comes up:
"there is a conflict between your project audio setting and the 'treat MPEG audio as non-DVD compliant' option".
Can somebody tell me what the error means? I ignored it and the burn seems to have gone well.
Also, is there a definition of settings of what "compliant MPEG" means?
'project audio settings conflict' error
Re: 'project audio settings conflict' error
MPEG audio is not within the NTSC Specs (although many newer NTSC DVD Players will still play mpeg audio).blk1948 wrote:I am using DVD Movie Factory 3 Disc Creator. I started a new project by adding a video file with the following settings:

Ulead added the "Do Not convert compliant mpegs" after their initial Authoring releases -- old MovieFactory and original DVD Workshop 1.0). They then added the "Treat mpeg audio as non-DVD compliant" option.
So, you could put a video that is compliant meaning the video meets dvd specs, but the audio is mpeg (for NTSC discs). You can check that box, and then MovieFactory will treat the mpeg audio as non-compliant, and re-encode only the audio to your project template (either lpcm or Dolby Digital).
It's a way for you to tell MovieFactory that if my source video has mpeg audio, convert it to the audio format in my project template (you can also just leave mpeg audio if you know your NTSC DVD Player can handle it)
