Sure. Just click in the text field under the icon...hit backspace to delete what's in there and enter your file name.

Hi

If you are looking at the library, renaming these thumbnails does not rename the files on your hard drive.

Ok Trevor..you bring up another question. I used the "Split by Scene" option under CLIP and it placed all the different scenes to the library. Is there a way to get all thsoe scenes to my hard drive now? Independent of the current project?

Hi Jim

When you look at video studio, the clips in the timeline, the clips in the library., all the clips you see are only thumbnails representing the main file saved on your hard drive. The clips are merely links to the main file.

Editing the clips in the timelines or library does not change the files on your hard drive.

When you Split by Scene video studio provides pointers, locations to parts of the main files, these are represented as clips in the library or timeline. If you right click the clips select properties the save location will be the same for all Split by Scene clips.

You say (Is there a way to get all thsoe scenes to my hard drive now )
These scenes are already on your hard drive as the main file captured I assume earlier.

Once you edit the project, you make a new file by Share Create Video File.

If you need to make a separate file for each of the scenes, then click a scene, Clip—Save Trimmed Video
This will render the clip to a separate file saving it in the ‘working folder’

Hope this Helps

Normally, it is the working folder you set in File > Preferences. But you only have to right click on one of the files, select Properties, and in the box which appears, the file name and location will appear at the top...
