VFX Partner software not usable in MSP8... WHY???

Post by tgill »

I have contacted the developer of the VFX partner product and they informed me that Ulead has not provided them with the the info to update it for use with MSP8 (see message below). Does anyone know a way to rig this. I really hate having to switch between 7 & 8 just to use these transitions. What is the hold up Ulead. Is this ever goingto happen or am I stuuck like this forever.

Dear User,

So far Ulead didn’t release info to us to Make our plugins compatible, so there is nothing we can do about it.

Look in the folder
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.0\Vfx_plug
and see if you can identify the vfx plug file. If so copy/paste it to
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0\Vfx_plug

That was the first thing I tried

I tried that and they still do not work. Something about their code is different.

Thanks

I had this same problem, but got it working

SJJ is on the right track. VFX Transitions will add a file to the vfx_plug folder called VIDEOFX.VFX (look for a file that is approx 284K). You need to manually copy this file into the MSP8 vfx_plug folder, as their setup program won't do it for you.

Once you do this, it all works. PM me if you have an trouble.

I think what the VFX guy said is not correct. All needed information for developing Ulead plug-ins is been released in http://www.ulead.com/download/sdk.htm and they can get the SDK to make their plug-ins to work.

I think what they need to do is to update their plug-in installer to install the VFX plug-ins to the right place in MSP8, since the installer works for MSP7...
