I don't know if this is the right forum but got this product with Photo Impact.
I am new to animation but how can you draw an animated line on a map moving from a-b. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Now that sounds like a great idea for a tutorial!
It sort of depends on what the map route is (reasonably straight line would be best). Me, I would use three objects. The top-most object, the map, on top. Second object/layer, a large one-color object, the color you want your line. Bottom object/layer, solid black (or whatever color the rest of the road is on the map).
Using the Eraser tool, carefully erase the A-B route of your road.
Frame 1:
Move the second object so the edge is near your A point.
Duplicate the frame.
Frame 2:
Move the second object so it is now showing the completed route to B.
Making sure the second layer is selected, use the Tween function to tween the position of the second object.
See my tutorial on tweening by position for details on using that function.
Tweening By Position.
That would do it! I hope all that made sense...

You're most welcome - and thank you! Glad it worked.
That's not the only way to do what you wanted, but it was likely the easiest to explain...
The Web Utilities forum is where GIF Animator questions should be posted, by the way...
Happy animating!
