Hi I would like to try the HD feature in VS10 plus.
The help file says I need to install HDV plug in.
I have looked at the files I downloaded from my purchase of VS10 Plus
I can't seem to find any HDV plug in and I can't see it
on the web site ?
Thanks
Eric

I have a Sony XDCAM Player (not Mine) with Sony XD Cam disc
when I Plug the firewire in the option under source is (Sony - MSDV)
not Sony-HDV does this mean that I cant capture HDV video from this deck,
it playes and records HDV
if I try to change the capture values it does not accept them ??
any help would be great !
I this is my first attempt at HD video the client rented the camera and HD deck

Eric,
I did not find much information about the interfaces available on the XDCAM, but it may have either a firewire or USB2 port that you can use to copy the HD video onto your computer disk, using Windows Explorer. (Don't try to capture from another hard disk using Video Studio capture, which is set up to capture HDV from a miniDV tape cassette.)
I don't know what the video format will be - hopefully mpeg2 Program stream (.mpg files). If it is mpeg2 Transport Stream (.m2t suffix), you will have to convert it to Program stream to edit with VS10+.

Eric,
The DV capture is just standard definition video (720x480). The camcorder is down rezing the HDV and throwing away most of the picture quality. You have to set the camcorder to transfer HDV. On my Sony HC1, there is a menu item called "IlinkConv", which has to be set to "OFF" to transfer HDV over the firewire.
I don't know of a video format called XML...
