My own experiment with that filter was just as successful as it was for you!!! This has been discussed here in the past and it seems that it would probably be better to simply forget that particular filter. There are other third party pieces of software out there which do the job well, or at least better, but I am afraid I forget their names for the moment. Perhaps someone else can provide them... ?

I agree. The depan filter from Fizick works pretty well for me. Check it out here.

Hi thanks for your replies I have downloaded Depan and the result was still very disapointing and I am now wondering if this is because I'm using Mpeg2 files. Although other filters I've used work fine. I shall do an Avi capture of a shaky bit and see.

Hi, I've tried a lot video clips in the anti-shake filter too, and I think the video format kind of affect the result.

There are some kinds of "frame type" that you can select while creating a video file, such as "upper field first", "lower field first", and "frame based", and I guess the video created by "frame based" type could be done well by this filter.

Here is one of the video that can be done well in UVS10, you could try it.

Wow!! that clip is a little over the top, that's more than camera shake, it looks as though an earthquake is taking place.
Good example of how the Anti-shake filter works though, I am impressed.

Thanks

Anti Shake filter

Post by wywso0 »

When I clicked on the link, I found a site in chinese script and it didn't seem to load a video file.

My experience of trying ot apply the anti-shake filter to a shot where I had zoomed in too far was that it removed the minor jerkiness and changed it into a number of step changes. This wasn't particularly useful.

Same happend when I clicked the link so instead I right clicked the link and selected copy. I then found that if I pasted this in Firefox an option box came up to save the avi file. If I pasted the link in internet explorer the avi file opened in Windows Media Player.

Lines in Image?

Post by nmakaroff »

I need a good Shake Filter and am shopping around for new editing software.
I downloaded the VS10+ trial.

When I try the filter I get very noticeable horizontal lines in the picture - as if the interlacing has gone nuts.
Is there a fix for this?
