Coll 3D vs Cool 3D production Studio

Post by Gra »

Hi Guys

I've had C3D V. 3.00 since I found it bundled with VideoStudio a couple of years ago. I'm thinking of upgrading as I see there's a V3.5 now. As it was bundled in with VS, do I need to buy from scratch or can I upgrade?

Also (I know it's more expensive) but I'm thinking of going straight for C3D PS instead. In the view of those more experienced, is C3D PS the way forward (stable, etc) or is there little to choose between C3D?

Any advice or views would be welcome.
Thanks & regards.

Opps, title should have read 'Cool', not 'Coll'. Sorry.
Thanks & regards.

Hi Gra,

I use 3D PS, and I found it to be well worth the money. However according to H.T. Chein, Cool 3D 3.5 has a better rendering engine then PS. It can render somethings a little faster. One thing that you should understand is that with any 3D grapics program, rendering is going to take a while. Now given that I still like Production Studio.

Ulead has a comparison between the 3 apps. See it here.

You can also download trial versions to see which will do the job best for you.

For rendering performance, yes C3D is faster than C3DPS.

For features, C3DPS is much better than C3D.

Hum....

I think it's something misleading. Sorry about my bad English.
