Videostudio V10 Frame skipping when rendering

Post by Flybe »

Nature of the problem
Individual captured .avi files play fine on Nero Media Player, but after editing and adding transitions etc, clips appear to have frame loss in that some of the movement is jerky adn not as smooth as the original. Any suggestions please?

Hi

Are you sure you should be using DV Video Encoder -- type 1

and not DV Video Encoder -- type 2

When i try to create a project to these settings i have to use 2

Hi Trevor,
Frankly, I don't know. When I first started this project, the main thing I found I needed to do was set it up for PAL, rather than the default NTSC. Other than that I could get no help for anything else so left it as the default giving a sort of baseline.
I have just had a look through Preferences and Project Properties and I can't see how to change it anyway.
Do you know what the difference between Type 1 and 2 are?

Cheers,
Norris

Trevor's is the most likely scenario, but the other thing that would cause this issue would be to have reversed the field order during the render. Make sure that your rendered file properties exactly match your capture properties, and that both are set to Lower Field First..

Damn. Does that mean I've got to capture it all again and re-edit it all again, or can I apply the previous editing to the new capture via the .vsp file? I assume that the captured .avi files will have the same file numbers.
