WS2 Update 2.231

Post by StBruno »

My current version of WS2 is "DVD Workshop 2.2 Express" with "Ulead AC-3 PowerPack 1.0". It was downloaded/installed as an "upgrade" to "Movie Factory 3 Disk Creator" in early Feb05.

I've only recently noticed that there's a "DVD Workshop 2.0 Update Pack 2.231 (released 2004/10/06)".

Can anyone advise if I can (or should) apply that update to my Workshop 2.2 Express? Or does the update only apply to a full version of DVD Workshop?

I've just started to use subtitles, and there have been a few problems - weird program crashes when using start/end time codes rather than typing directly onto the preview frame, and also the first few pixels at the start of a title seem to get chopped off unless I insert a few spaces.

I have DVD Workshop 2 Express and have been running version 2.231 since it's release without any problem.

Thanks very much, jday. I've already downloaded the update, so I'll go ahead and instal it.

I just tried to burn a DL disc that was 6GB. There was an error so I came to the site and noticed there was a patch availible. I downloaded it and ran it and now a different problem occurs. I can open DVD WS get all the way to the Menu section. Then I click on Finished and go to press that little icon that means you are ready to open up the little burning options box. It won't open and my whole computer freezes and I have to reboot. The only change I made was downloading the update patch. I have DVD WS 2 Express. It has worked fine up until I tried to burn a DL disc and now that I have downloaded the patch I can't burn anything. Now even regular sized disc. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks for your help!

You could use system restore to go back to the point you were at before installing the update.

Can anyone answer yes or no from experience????

Does DVDWS Express burn a DL disc??

If not, can you write, say a 6GB image to the hard drive and then burn it with other software?[/i]

I have used Express to make dual-layer DVDs. No problem.

I believe I've always done it in two steps, first creating the DVD folders on my hard drive, and then clcking the ISO button to burn the disc from the folders.

I have applied the dual-layer update, but I think I created "dual layer" folders (larger than 4.7GB) before I applied the update. (Before I had a dual layer burner, I sometimes used DVDshrink before the burn step.)
