How do I crop a rectangular photo whilst in overlay Video Tk

Post by meshuken »

Hello,

VS 10 question.

I am trying to place a photo of a book cover in the upper right portion of the screen as I am talking about the book.

I have a JPG of the book cover which I place in the video overlay track. I want the book to appear at the bottom of the screen and then float to the top right of the screen and increase in size as it moves.

Problems:

How do I crop the book cover from the rest of the photo? When I go to "apply pan and zoom" it only lets me crop to a "ratio" of what appears to be a photograph (ie you can only size the box diagnally not up and down, left or right). the book cover is tall and narrow so when I try and resize the crop window it shows the background to the left and right of the cover (which happens to be a brick wall). I just want the cover showing.

Also how do I make the cover increase in size as it moves up to the right?

Thanks!

Hi

The easiest way is to use an image editor to crop the photo to the book size. Try to use 4:3 ratio.
Use this in the overlay track, use fade and directions and style.

To apply several filters is possible, but whether you can get the combination you require, a matter of trial and error.

Try the overlay direction and style from lower left to upper right, then apply the crop tool.
Once selected, drag the two trim handles indication the Blue Bar together.

You will have a black border use the Mask and Chrome Key to remove.

If you need multiple effects, Once you have applied one filter say zoom, Create a video file of the image. Share Create Video File –DV
Then use the video file to apply additional motion.

Hope this Helps
