Im Using VS10
Is this really the best quality im going to get out of this program? I got this to make a video to put up for download over the internet, the program is nice, but I think i might go back to windows movie maker so I can output a video that isn't so blurry.
I went to Share, Creat Video File. There are three premade templates for WMV, two are HD quality widscreen ratio, 1 is a 4:6 at 320x240, 30fps. I wanted 640...I tried custom, chose WMV on the dropdown. Options>Profile, all the choices from the dropdown are 352x288 or below...ok lets make a custom template? *chooses "customize"* Here is another dropdown menu with the same choices as before...Lets try Tools>make Movie Manager. New>Chooses WMV from the dropdown, Profile>customize..still the same options.
Is this really the max resolution for WMV? Is it not possible to export to a higher resolution for some reason, or am I dreaming remembering exporting things with windows movie maker that looked much better?
WMV export resolution capped at 352x288, are you serious?

Like I said above, I already tried to create my own WMV template, no option to go above 352x288.
As for the share online... I tried that as well, unfortunately the only option is to do it with low audio quality and 20 fps, which is maybe even worse.
I guess I could double render it...taking it from VS to windows video encoder, but what a rediculous waist of time.

Hi
I see many more options for creating Wmv.
The share on line has 4 from Best To Low
Best is:-
Windows Media Video
24 bits, 640 x 480, 30 fps
Frame-based
44.100 KHz, 16 bits, Stereo
Ulead_Neptune_BestQuality
Using Movie Maker I have about 50 options
I think you may be missing some codecs, Ulead provide several for Wmv.
They should be available, try a re-install of VS.
Try installing the free Wmv encoder, that may install the codecs you are looking for.
Ulead Neptune Best Quality
Audio encoding mode: CBR
Video encoding mode: CBR
Audience: 768 Kbps
Audio codec: Windows Media Audio 9.1
Audio format: 96 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo CBR
Video codec: Windows Media Video 9
Video bit rate: 662.96 Kbps
Video size: 640 x 480
Frame rate: 30 fps
Key frame: 4 s
Image quality: 90
Buffer size: 5 s
I think this problem has been posted before, do a search on the forum.
If I find any details I will post back
