I was going to ask a question but I decided to experiment on my own to see if I could find a simple solution.
My wife asked me if there was a way to to apply a default transition to a group of photos that she places on the timeline without dragging the transition to every photo. AND she wants to apply a different default transition to each different group of photos that she places on the timeline.
i.e. Mondays get photos get the WIPE transition, Tuesdays photos get the FLOW transition, etc.
As I have found in experimenting with VS10 you have to learn how the program works in order to work find shortcuts within the program.
Hitting F6 will bring up Preferences. Under General you will find Use Defaul Transition Effect. If you select this and hit OK then all photos that you drag to the timeline will inherit this default transition. Any photos that were already on the timeline will not get this transition.
So our solution is to select a default transition, drag the desired photos to the timeline, hit F6 again and change the default transition, then drag the next desired group of photos to the timeline. They will then pick up the new default transition.
