Finally!! While, I had no success with the first suggestion regarding DemoShield deactivation (it isn't on my HD), the suggestion of making IE my default browser worked (sigh of relief).
The question I have now is, why did that work? What is it that IE controls that PI would need to install? Is it Active X? If so, why does the default status of IE have anything to do with a software install?
Anyway, thank you very much for sticking with me and continuing to make suggestions. What seemed like (to me) the least of the suggestions turned out, in fact, to be the solution. I never would have figured it out on my own.

I am not sure about PI’s relationship with the browser, you must ask Tech. However, I do know that many programs now require that you have IE installed for their programs to work. It did not occur to me for sometime about using Firefox as I assumed you were using IE as default. I read a few posts from Microsoft which indicated some programs that use IE as support may not install unless IE is the default browser.
