newbie,can I...

Post by currywurst »

Hi there,

...can i save my projects in any type of file format (mpg, mpeg,rm,wmv etc.) or only in dvd vob format? I've read about that in an old computer mag. from 04' that you couldn't in the first Versions of MF3,so ulead maybe changed that.

thanks for response

yes/no

when you go to compile your disc, it will create valid files based on the type of disc you are creating (VCD/SVCD/DVD).

However, if you have a source video like a *.avi file, it will need to encode it for your disc. So look for the temp folders -- you will find the converted mpegs -- they will be named with a "~" symbol in front of them... (temp folder is called DMF_TEMP -- or something like that)

p.s. you can't save to other formats like .wmv or .rm etc...

thanks GeorgeW,

thats what i thought,u can't have it all :)

ulead's mf 3 disc imports vob files but you cant save them in whatever file desired on the other hand pinnacle does not import vob's but u can save or export the projet you created in almost any file you like.

is there a reason why ulead doesn't offer that?

Authoring vs. Editing

DVD MovieFactory is an Authoring tool (mostly -- it does allow some simple edits). For editing and saving in other formats, Ulead offers VideoStudio and MediaStudio Pro.

Try them -- them both have Trials for download...
