Exactly what are you trying to do?
Most overlays fall into three basic catagories;
1. titles.
2. images that are smaller than the frame or have been scaled to be so using the moving path controls. ex: bugs & lower thirds. Bugs are the corner icons you see on TV. Lower thirds are like the news/sports channel info displays at the bottom of the screen.
3. images that have a transparent layer (alpha channel) or have been keyed (greenscreen/bluescreen etc.) using the Overlay controls. These too can have moving paths applied. ex: Superman flying in front of scenery, layer on layer of spaceships etc.
