V/S 10+ startup problem

Hi to everyone
I have used V/S 8 before with no probs.Recently I had a problem with my PC so I formatted my drive and re-installed XP and everything else that I needed.
I purchased V/S 10+ online but when I go to start it, it crashes with the following message.......

AppName: vstudio.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.0 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000

I have looked all over the net to find a solution and started to trawl through these pages but there are quite a few.
Can anyone offer any help

Not sure if my specs would help as I used ulead before on the pc before I re installed everything

I did that.I uninstalled and cleaned all the leftovers and then downloaded it again but the exact same thing happened.
I'm a bit puzzled.

I sorted it out.I uninstalled all the codecs on my system and it works now.I'll be more careful in future
