Alrighty then... let's see if we can narrow this down a bit...
Are you saying all gifs you've saved in GA 5 do, this, or just two? Can you open any other gifs in GA 5?
If you save in UGA format, can you reopen those files?
Can you open those two problem gifs in other software, such as IrfanView, Internet Explorer, or Windows Picture Viewer?
If GA 5 had been working fine before, have you installed any software since then?
Have you restarted your computer since this error started?
Is this a full (paid) version, or a trial?
Any other info also welcome.

That was your problem... GIF files are not video files. When you do that, GIF Animator is expecting to see video file information.
Just click "File, Open Image..." or click the Open icon (the folder). Unless you're opening a video (mpeg, mov, avi) do not use "Open Video."
This is a good example of why folks need to supply specific, detailed information when they post problems. We can't see your screen, and we don't always anticipate people doing the unexpected!
