Can’t download objects to use through EasyPalette.

Post by az0000000 »

Hello.
I am still on PhotoImpact 6 (don’t laugh please)
Recently I can’t download objects to EasyPalette. Could be that I have problems with firewall, but at the moment of download only windows firewall was on and no notification of blocking PhotoImpact from going on-line appeared, which means nothing is blocking PhotoImpact from going on-line.
Such messages I get:

Could it be that Ulead’s entire object database was moved? How can I update my PhotoImpact to point to new database place.
Thank you.

If you are using some IP sharing device or Firewall, please make sure you can access Internet via the 8080 port. Ulead PhotoImpact will use the 8080 port to do smart download.

Hope this helps.

Seems like it is not about problem with my blocked port. I added mentioned port to Windows Firewall exceptions list and added PhotoImpact to exceptions list as well. It didn't help much.
Seems like the program is trying first do download the file than gives the error. Check this:

Another interesting thing is that Smart Download it goes untill about 70 .ufos and then give same error, but when I try to download separate object like the case on screenshot it doesn't work at all.[/img]

Hi -

I recently installed Photo Impact 10 and am having the same problem. All ports are open and PI has availability to port 8080 and still has the issue. I believe it is a problem on Uleads end.

I think you can contact Ulead Tech Support via http://www.ulead.com/tech/techsupport.htm

The faster way is to phone them. You can get the phone number in the link.

Hope this helps.

I am having the exact same problem with version 10. It downloads the manuals, a few pieces here and there, and then won't download anything else. It shows that it is retrieving a file, while no actual kb of data is received on my end. It's very, very frustrating when you buy a piece of software and can't get it to do the most basic of it's own maintenance tasks. I even went back and installed XL and it did the same thing, so I know it's not a version specific problem. It's something going on at Ulead.

Not knowing why you have the problem, but I can use the Smart-Download feature here, both at office and at home....

As the statement on the top of this forum page, Ulead is not obliged to answer here because this is only a User-To-User forum. To get help from Ulead, you need to contact Ulead Tech Support.

If you do not wish to phone them, you can try to fill the free tech support form.

To fill the form you will need the serial number of your PhotoImpact, which you can get by clicking Help->About in the menu command.

I just found some files about PI6 in Ulead FTP site, maybe you can try it.

ftp://ftp.ulead.com/pub/Goodies/pi6/

For PI 10, please check ftp://ftp.ulead.com/pub/ESD/pi10/

If you still cannot access the site, you will INDEED need to contact Ulead Tech Support.
