DVD MF5: Error while rendering Error 533:-2147216477:0

Post by markus73 »

Hi everybody

I have bought DVD MF5. The movie contains of 8 avi files which i connected to one file. after that i have created 1 custom menu with 8 chapters with mini- pics and chapter titles. Trying to finish the project (render and burn) i receive an error with the code above. The german text is "Die Bildanzahl für einige Kapiteleinträge übersteigt die Gesamtzahl der Bilder" My best guess in English would be:"The amount of pictures in some chapters is larger than the total amount of pictures". After clicking ok the software returns to the burn- window. No movies has been burned and no iso was created. I don't get the sense behind the error message (is it a riddle?). Tech support is not answering the phone or answering my mail for some days now.

Any help appreciated.

P.S.: Before the you can't burn avi to dvd discussions starts. I have tried the same with only two avis and a standard menu with one chapter an the outcome was perfect.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Yep, I have joined them. (I use the german version so i don't know the english tech terms)

Doesn't exporting the file in an mpeg2 always mean loss in quality? When i created the avis in Adobe Premiere i also tried to export as an Mpeg (2gb) and the quality wa sreal bad compared to the avis (16gb). I didn#t notice it while watching on my pc but when watching on tv when the camera was moving the picture was kind of flurry (don't know how to precisely describe the effect but i can't show the movie this way)

Thanks for the help. I will try to generate the files separately as recommended. I am curious how it will turn out.

I posted the same error some time ago(2 pages before this) the error is Some chapter entry frame numbers exceed the total frames. It basically means MF5 reckons the size of the file doesnt quite fit ie there should be some extra frames of data that dont seem to be there. I am sure this is a hard error and occurs when separate video footage is JOINed. MF5 has a fault in the way it calculates total frame nos.MF5 has a number of faults which it would be nice if ULEAD owned up to it having. And from the messageboards, some people have managed to get new DLL's fixing some faults. I guess we will have to wait for a fix. Either way the more of us that get this one will lead eventually to a fix. In other words like it or lump it the fault is here to stay, for a while at least.

Having other people muddying the water by asking if you have tried this or that doesnt really help either. ANd trying to JOIN separate files and export them isnt reliable either, so if a JOIN and export works, then do it, but dont assume that it has worked, you must checkit has. Make sure the lenghth of the output is right. I posted a message about JOIN's followed by exports for just this situation, around the same time, as i wanted to do the same as you and thought of that as a workaround.
When Fast export works,it works extreemely well, but when it doesn't, it dont tell you it hasnt it looks as if it has, but the output is incomplete(sometimes!).
I hope this helps and also makes ULEAD sit up and take notice, and take responsibility for it.
