The weirdest problem I have ever had.. pixeled text

Post by michelehamilton »

Okay.. on my laptop.. was using my new DW2.. everything was great.. I started to burn another DVD..threw an .mpg on the timeline.. the quality RIGHT then and there was terrible.. the text was pixeled on the video.. it is NOT when I bring it up in Movie Factory or Media Player.. it's fine.. ONLY in DW2... I throw that same .mpg on another computer.. bring it up on DW2.. it's FINE.. looks fantastic!

WHAT could that possible be? I even uninstalled it.. tried again.. same problem.. then even took my system restore back to 6 days ago.. before I even installed DW2..reinstall CLEAN..and it did it again!!

And it burns terrible from DW2 also.. keep in mind.. I WAS using it and it was fine.. what changed? I don't know.. is there a setting somewhere I am missing?

:-( Hope you can help.. thank you:)

The only thing I can think of is that it is re-encoding your MPEG. To avoid this, assuming it is DVD compatible, is to make sure in Edit Video/Audio the Convert to Template box is unchecked. If you cannot, it means either a) your MPEG file is not compatible or b) your project settings are not the same as the original (e.g. PAL instead of NTSC or vice-versa).

Oh, my.. this is really going to seem like I'm going crazy! I put the DVD Workshop on ANOTHER computer.. it all was working GREAT.. using the same video as posted earlier.. using DW2...

Then.. I created this awesome menu..and almost before my eyes.. the quality of the video did the same thing it did on the other computer! The text is pixel looking! WEIRD..

I go back to Movie Factory and it's fine.. the video is fine..

Has no one else had this problem? It's really wild! I am finding no reason for it..

Oh..and it doesn't seem to matter whether I have the disk template checked or not.. the video looks bad as soon as I import it in now.. it DIDN't.. but now it is..

Two computers that did fine.. and now don't.. I doubt if even Ulead could help if you guys haven't experienced this:(

Anybody?

Thanks!

Michele:)
