I am finishing a project that includes four 6-8 minutes video segments and each one uses an Auto Music (i.e., Smartsound) track for background music. The AVIs rendered from 3 of the segments are perfect with the background music. However, on the 4th segment, the auto music is not there after I render the project to an AVI.
After assembling the project and adding the Auto Music, I preview it and the background music is there and plays fine, it just disappears when I render it to an AVI. I've done hundreds of videos using this technique and this is the first time I've had this problem and it really has me stumped. I tried deleting the auto music and then adding it back in and even trying a different smartsound. The result is always the same (with this one project)--sounds fine in preview, but disappears in rendering. I am really in a time crunch on this project and cannot finish it with 1 segment of the 4 not having background music. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Steve, thanks for the quick response. I'll check into that. In the meantime, the "relevant area" is the entire timeline. I might have confused you in my original post when I talked about 4 segments for my video projects. Each segment (including the one with the problem) is a separate .dvp file in MSP8.
So, the timeline is 8 minutes long. In fact, to simplify this as much as possible, I completed the segment (minus the auto music) and rendered the segment as an .avi, then started a new project, brought the .avi onto the timeline and then simply added the auto music. So, the timeline is very simple: Video1 and Audio1 contain the main .avi file and Audio2 is the auto music. This is the process I normally use and it has always worked fine.

I have come up with a workaround that will allow me to finish authoring my project, but would still appreciate any insights as to why I had this problem.
The workaround: I deleted the Video1/Audio1 tracks leaving only the auto music track (audio2). I then, exported the auto music as a .wav file. Then, I created a new project, brought my main .avi onto the video1/audio1 tracks and then loaded the .wav I created from the auto music onto audio2 track. That worked.
