deleting clip without moving the rest

how can I setup my MSP8 to not move clips after deleting some? everytime I delete a movie clip and want to insert different one on its place, the rest will move to fill the empty gap after the deleted clip....is it possible to get rid of this? thanks

Turn off "Ripple Editing"

Also, if you right-click on the file you wish to change, you can Replace With directly without having to delete and then put another in its place. Much easier!
