DVD MENUS

Post by SniperAceOne »

Hi,

I have created a film ready to put onto DVD.

I want to put my own picture on the front of the DVD i.e. when it is your DVD player the first picture before playing.

I am able to put a picture in the create disk sections but the small black preview box is still on my picture.

How am I able to get rid of that box.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

Kim.

Hi SAO/Kim

and welcome to the forum

You cannot get rid of the box, but you can change it.
If I am reading you correctly the black box is the menu thumbnail, allowing you to play your video.
The thumbnail shows the first frame of your video.

You can change the black frame to a frame of your choice.
Click on the frame, (the black bit), a pop up allows you to select a frame.

What you are seeing is the menu structure which you need to play the video.

Also
You have the option of ‘playing first video’ from the first window.
If you check this then the first video inserted will play before accessing the menu.

Hi again

If you create a video from an image, say 20 seconds long.

You could use this as the first / introductory play video.

This will show prior to seeing the menu.

I noticed the Scan Digest displays a field named ATN (see paste below). Can anyone tell me what it means ... is there a correlation to elapsed time?

Thanks

Thats for the info. I will try that.

Its a pitty that we cannot get rid of the preview box.

Maybe someone smart may find a way.

Thanks,

Kim. :D

Not sure what your calling the preview box - do you mean the menu thumbnail ?? - if you don't want it there why not use one of the 'Text' menus instead so that you only have a line of text there to click on ??

Hi,

Sorry if I am not making myself clear about the preview box. That may be the wrong name.

When you go through the create disk, just before you render it, you can add a background image and music if you want to.

I can put my own background image in no problem.

But it also puts a small black box on top of my background. i.e. when I put the finished DVD into my DVD player it is the first picture you see before playing.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Kim.

Just a quick question...

with this text menu, is there anyway to edit the icon (thingo that highlights each title), as i dont really want a purple feather as mine...

Or is there somewhere i can access more options of text menu's, as now i can only see one. Is there somewhere i can download more?

ALSO - is it possible i can import a word from photoshop / hard drive and hyperlink my video titles to this image / object? rather than use the text fonts available.

if this is not possible at all, what ULEAD program will do it? and is easy to use.

thankyou.

Two methods:
Method 1: Use DVD Workshop 2.
Method 2: Use PhotoImpact
