I have a slidshow of photos and some videos from my digital camera. and even when I put the background music very low and put the sound line in the camera video as high as it goes, it is still not loud enough. is there a possibility to turn up the sound from video besides the sound line that is in audio lane....?

Have you tried the Amplify audio filter? It seems made for that. Alternately, there is Normalize which, I think, adjusts the peak volume in the clip to -6 dB.
