Major Issues with PI 11; Please HELP

My Photoimpact 11 will not save a new image, nor save as in any format. The save window comes up but it will not save any new image. I can save over my original copy. Therefore, in order to save any new image, I must copy and paste into another graphic program.

I have no Extract Image under objects. I have no Text Wrap. I am also missing other features in the Easy Palette. I have no Smart Download.

I downloaded the trial PI 11 and had the save issues but thought it was a limitation on the trial. Everything else worked fine on the trial version. I was so impressed with the Extract Object that I purchased the program. Now I wish I had not.

As you can see, as is, the program is virtually useless.

I have now contacted tech help three times with no answer.

Photoimpact 5 was my first purchase and it has worked fine all these years and I was very pleased with it. My PI 11 is such a disappointment.

I have wondered if a downloaded version of PI 11 would solve my issues. I really want all the features that Ulead has on the trial version (with the save issue fixed).

Please help! This sort of thing makes Ulead look bad.

Hi Marirw, and welcome to the forums..

It appears that you have a corrupt install. Also in reading your post, am I correct that you have the Full Boxed version? If so, go to Control Panel>Add/Remove and for PI-11 choose the repair option. If not then you would need to re-install it. First though, make sure you have done a complete and clean uninstall. For directions GO HERE.

I have reinstalled and reinstalled this program from the CD. I am persistent and following your post, I followed the directions exactly to remove the program and then reinstalled again and that did not change anything.
All of my problems still exist.

I would suspect your NORTON AV product. I have heard so many people complaining about it when it comes to video/image editing. Try a complete uninstall of NORTON (that's not a mean feat either because it is sooo invasive) and do a repair of PI. See how you go with that.

The save as problem should be fixed by the clean reinstallation procedure outlined by steve. You can also see it at the Knowledge Base of Ulead.

Don't expect to get the same features as the full version. You have the SE/bundled version and it has less features than the full.

The "Smart Download' is basically used by the ESD (Electronic Software Distribution) version which is the full version purchased online. The SE CD installer doesn't need it.
