Embedded text in photo slideshows disappears

Nature of the problem: I'm making a slideshow DVD. But my embedded text (added via slideshow menu) disappears after encoding & burning to DVD. Right before burning, I asked DVD MF5 to delete temp files from the working folder. After burning, the DVD movie lacks several (majority) of the embedded text, although menu text/sound/embedded music/transition between photos are ALL PRESENT. Reopening DVD MF and opening the original file will see that all added text are gone as well.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?): all JPEG photos and some TIFF photos.

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?

Project Settings: DVD/NTSC/720x480

Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD): DVD

System information: Intel Centrino 1.8GHz w/ 1GB RAM and 100GB HDD.
