I am a newbie to video editing stuff...music is more my forte. I am branching into doing 5.1 audio and determined that the most user-friendly way to share my 5.1 mixes was to burn DVD-Video(which almost every DVD-Player can play) with 5.1 dolby digital sound so I just purchased VS-10 hoping it would accomplish my goal of buring DVD-Video CD's with slideshow video over 5.1 audio tracks but am getting stuck. When I import the 5.1 track, it plays fine in clip mode(in surround) but once I add a slide(that I set to the lenght of the song) and try project mode it plays loud static, almost white noise. I guess my real questions are:
-What is the best 5.1 format to import into VS-10? The format I am using from my audio program(SONAR) is recognized by VS-10 as "PCM 44.1Khz, 5.1 channel" and like I said...it plays in clip mode, just doesn't work in project mode. The graphic of the wav file does look like white noise ironically so I figure it must be a format issue.
2. What is the best way(sequence/process) to get from 6 channel(5.1) audio to a DVD with 5.1 channel sound(the video portion is actually irrelevant to me right now...a title slide with the song name would be fine).
Thanks in advance and I am sorry if this is a basic thing I am missing...I am an expert at audio editing but pretty much a newbie at the video editing stuff. BTW, I did search this forum and the knowledge base but didn't find examples with 5.1...I did find issues with static and stereo files but didn't quite see how those posts were relevant to mine.
