Updating EXIF data

Post by The Old Timer »

My wife's camera loses the date settings in her camera every time she changes the battery & we often forget to reset the date which means that the EXIF date especially the date taken is missing from each picture.

Can the EXIF data be added in PI 10? If so can it be done in batch mode? Is there an option as to what way the date is displayed on the screen?

The Browse Manager has an Icon on the Menu Bar you can turn on and off to display EXIT info, but you can not modify the Data. It is a copyright thing.

You will have to have thrid party software that can do that. There are plenty of EXIF Editors on the Web.

That's surprising since it was possible to at least alter the date the picture was taken in Uleads Photo Explorer.

I just looked in PhotoExplorer 8.6 and it does have the option to change the EXIF data. (Tools>Modify Camera Information (EXIF) ).

Thanks for that. I see you mentioned version 8.6 of PE as far as I can see the latest is only 8.5. Was that just a typo or is there another update?

No typo, that was the release that came with my PI-11.

Thst's surprising since I went to Ulead's web site the other day & the only reference to 8.6 was under FAQ's. Under downloads or updates from 8.5 nothing. This is rather confuing. Maybe it means its available only if you purchase PI-11.

Yes, you got it, only available with PI 11. Unfortunately, installing PEX 8.6 also requires removal of PEX 8.5. Hence, we cannot check if this option was available in PI 10 already.

Someone with PI 10 needs to confirm if this is possible also.

I've never noticed that until now :? So it must be a version that is tied with PI-11 as you stated. It comes with a PDF user manual, saying 8.6 too.
