Analogue passthrough with Sony DCR-HC40E ???

I vaguely remember reading that my Sony camera could do this?...

I assume I plug my analogue camera into the A/V port, connect the Sony via firewire to my Dell 8400... and then what?

How do I tell the Sony to do passthrough?

What do I do in VideoStudio8 to ensure that the analogue is captured as an AVI file?

Any help to this blithering newbie idiot greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I would suggest to goto the Sony Support Website and download the
step by step instructions.
When you type in the Model No. leave out the "E" and the dash.

Example: DCRHC40
