Reverse Clips

Post by shoalhaven »

I downloaded a program from the old Forum site, that enabled you to play a clip backwards. For example, a man dives off a high board, hits the water, then comes flying back up to the board. The program came from Germany, and has no English help available.

On a regular AVI video clip, I keep getting the same error message -- 'No Video Stream in AVI file'. Not being too well versed in VS8, I am at a loss as to how to overcome this error.

On several of the Ulead provided library clips however, it works to perfection. Can anyone help?

I believe the program is called VToolBox.

I haven't tried the program, but I suspect it may require an uncompressed AVI video stream. Try taking the video you wish to reverse, go to the Share step, and create a new AVI from the source video. Go to the Options dialog, then the Compression tab, and make sure that you are outputting an uncompressed AVI file. Finally, try reversing the new file.

Except for a thin band of black on either side of the clip, your suggestion did the trick. It creates an interesting scene.
