I'd say no.

We just set-up a dual-monitor system at work. It's not mine, and it doesn't have any A/V software on it...

This is an operating system feature. To Windows, it basically "appears" as one big monitor. So, you can drag a window from one monitor to another.

Video Studio is a 'one window" program. That means that you could put Video Studio on one monitor, and Excel in the other. But, I doubt that's what you want to do... :? On the other hand, Excel is a "multi-document" program, and you could put one spreadsheet on one monitor, and another spreadsheed on the other monitor.

I don't have experience with VS but use my MSP 7.3 with 3 monitors.

What you need to do that, is a dual or tripple head video card. I have the MATROX Parhelia and use one 21" CRT, a 19" LCD plus a small TV for the previews.
