I got a copy of VS 8 SE that came with my DVD burner. I am trying to create a DVD from video clips captured from my Sony Digital camera. The video clips are MPEG1.
It appears that everytime I click on an MPEG1 video (either importing them into the library, or clicking on them to drag and drop them into the timeline), my CPU would spike up to 100% for 20-30 seconds.
I am guessing that it renders it in the background, but I am not really sure what is going on.
This is quite annoying. Does anyone know a possible solution?
I am using an Athlon 64 X2 4400+ with 4 gigs of ram.
Thanks

Clicking on Mpeg1 clip thumbnail causes CPU to go 100%
