VS8 and nero, any conflict?

Post by pjensen12 »

Ages ago, on the old Web Board, I recall reading a few posts that referenced installing nero on the same computer as VS7. It seems that there was one "feature" of nero that sometimes caused a problem with VS7, and we were were cautioned not to check that when installing nero.

I'm about to install nero express v5.5.9.2, and I use both VS7 and VS8 on my computer. Is there anything I should beware of? Everything is currently working perfectly and I don't want to rock the boat!!

My only negative experience with an element of Nero relates to InCD, which I found created a conflict with the packet writing software built into XP. I also got messages telling me my DVD burner was not ready. Once I uninstalled InCD, the problems went away.

I have used Nero v6 and Nero Vision Express for ages now. I use it to capture, transcode, author and burn. It is far superior and more stable than DVDMF3 - even has 2 pass VBR - but I still need VS7 for editing. I have found no conflict at all on XPSP2.

I have Nero 5.5.10 and VS8 installed and no problems on my WinXP SP2 system here.

Aaaaaaaaaaah,

Is this the answer to my question of last month http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... highlight=
which didn't receive a solution other than abuse from one cheeky member.

Do you think that it is Nero (Nero Wave) which is installed is the reason I can't use the 'Record Voice' button in the VS8 audio tab to be able to record/add an additional audio commentary :? ?

As I've said before: All connections, hardware and microphone are working perfectly allowing me to record voice files with Nero Wave, but not VS8.01.

Any ideas :?: ???

Regards JB.
