UVS 9 serial number

Post by Dr S. »

In April Ulead made available to me a replacement download for the full version of UVS 9.0. They did not provide a serial number for it though. I have requested a serial number from them several times since then without a response. I thus have not been able to install the programme again. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Didn't you already have a serial number with your original version? Or have you already tried using that?

Thanks Ken. It is strange but I never had an original serial number, just a purchase reference number, and in my original full version no serial number appeared unde the 'about' tab. I have no explanation for this but Ulead obviously had a record of my purchase when they made the replacement full download available to me.

Did you register it with Ulead, on-line? If so, then go on-line, log in and you can navigate to View My Registered Products. The serial numbers for all your registered products will be listed there.

Be glad they gave you a replacement download at all! I've been trying for over a month to get one. :x I bought the boxed version but the disk has been damaged, I provided them with the serial number, pointed out where it is in their registration database (in my name of course), scaned the original disk and envelope with S/N but no luck! Ulead's customer support has got to be the WORST IN THE INDUSTRY

tleonhar,

Did you also try contacting Element5? Maybe they will be able to assist you. I know when I first purchased VS9, I received a faulty disc, and by contacting them, I was sent a replacement disc.

ULEAD do not sell their products directly. All their on-line sales are handled by Elements5 as rightly pointed out by vidoman. You are barking up the wrong tree.

Isn't Element5 only for downloaded versions? I bought the retail version, but it's worth a try since Ulead's concern ends with the initial sale.

Elemets5 handle all on-line sales for Ulead. You should no best whom you bought it from, we can't know.

Got a reply from Eliment5, they only support products bought online, of course I bought the boxed version. So the battle with Ulead goes on, really sucks, they make such a great product, then ruin it with their horrible customer support.

When I purchased a boxed version the serial number was stamped on the CD cover. Did you register your software on the Ulead website if so simply log in and retrieve your serial number.

It is no good complaining about bad service from Ulead if you did not keep records of important information and/or you don't bother to register.

Yes, I did register, and I have the original CD (the one that became damaged) and slieve with serial number. I pointed that and even sent them a scan of my CD so they can verify that my serial number matches that in their registration database. Their answer is that the fact that I registered my unique serial number with them is not proof enough to them that I bought that product. They will only accept a copy of the original sales reciept, which was printed by one of those thermal POS printers typical at the checkouts, and has long since faded to nothing. Makes you wonder though, what is the purpose of registering since it is not enough evidence in their eyes to prove you bought the product.

Where are we heading here?
Ulead have made available a replacement download (as per the above message) and you stated you do not have the serial number and this was the purpose of the post to this forum.

Now you state:

So are you asking for a serial number or a copy of the program or both?

I think you're mixing me up. The OP stted he got a link to a replacement download and is now looking for the S/N.
In my case, I have the original CD that has become damaged, with S/N. I'm trying to get either a link to a download or method of ordering a replacement CD for the software I own.

This will have to come from Ulead or Element5. We are just users like you, and have no position with either company. It is infrequent that any staff of Ulead appears on the board.
