He means the Soundblaster/Audigy disc. When you insert it, autorun normally clicks in and the disc menu normally appears on screen after a few seconds, with a set of options you can install individually. Often, this will start with 'Drivers', but there might also be, further down the list, a specific reference to 'IEEE1394' or Firewire or i-Link which needs separate installation.
Coincidentally, I happen to have a Soundblaster card which has a Firewire port on it, though it is not currently on my computer. When I insert the disc for it, it tries to detect the card (which is not there so it cancels). But in your case it would detect the card and present the install screen. On looking at the folders on my Soundblaster disc, though, there is one definitely labelled '1394', so it is highly likely that yours would also have this. This is what needs to be installed.
