WS 2 not recognizing wav files

"suddenly", WS is not seeing audio files that i point it to. i get, "unable to open (filename), invalid file." how can this be? whether these are wav's that have or have not gone through TMPGEnc it doesn't seem to matter. it won't recognize any of them. it was working fine until yesterday. the only change to my system was that i downloaded and installed the full (purchased) version of TMPGEnc 2.5. i wonder if that screwed things up? either way, even the wav's that i have not encoded with TMPGEn are not able to load.

TMPGEnc migh have installed some audio CODEC that cause this problem.
Use AVICodec to find out what CODECs are installed in your system....
