Rotating video

Post by PEARL »

I am new to video and while recording some work being done in my garden to chop down some trees, I stupidly turned the video round 90 degrees while I was filming at some points so that I could get a 'better' shot of what was going on rather than panning up and down. Is there a way I can turn these bits round the right way up? I've tried using the rotate buttons but this seems to control the whole film rather than the bits I want to to change. There is 60 minutes of video with about a quarter of it the wrong way up, speard over the 60 minutes.

Needless to say in future I will be recording the right way up in future. :?

Simply use the 'Scissors' tool to 'cut' the video in your timeline at each end of the piece(s) you want to rotate - then select only that piece and click on the 'rotate' icon.

Thank you that sounds simple enough but how do I select the piece to rotate it?

Just click on it in the timeline - so that it has dotted lines top and bottom and yellow 'handles' at each end.

With most operations within VideoStudio if you only want to apply to a certain piece of video you must first isolate it (by using scissors tool to cut it each end ) and then select it (click on it in timeline) you can then rotate it, mute audio, reduce audio level, apply filters etc. etc. etc.
