Setting chapters at regular intervals

Hi
I am running the 30 day trial on DVD Workshop and find it very easy to create most of what I want.
One thing that I can't work out is how to create chapters at regular intervals say every 5 minutes.
This is something I can do with my current software (TMPGEnc DVD Author).
I know you can use the scan to select the scenes but this finds too many scenes and is too much work for what I want.
Is this function to add regular chapters something that they have left out of the trial version or is it just not an option?

All I have in the auto add chapters is scan method - frame content.
Is there more in the drop down box in the full version?
And in the options button there is only a sensitivity slider.
I assume it is because I am using a limited trial version.

No sadly you only get the same options. One thing that would be useful if only Ulead would implement is the scene detection with minimum chapter length. e.g. only detect new scene if length from last scene is greater than 2mins etc.

I have the same problem. It doesn't give me a choice, and it finds chapters ever couple of frames. There would be thousands of chapters in a few minutes of video if I used auto-add. It is completely useless. I think it is a defect in the software. I just hope they patch it soon.

Add Chapter and Cut Tittle buttons are disable in DWS 2

How do you add chapter in DWS 2? i read the manual and watch the video tutorial 10+ times but can't find a way to do it.


I tried the Auto Add Chapters method but my video is 1 and 30 hrs long. There are so many scenes that it detects.

Is there anyway at all? i had been looking all over on the internet for this.

I have no problems adding chapters manually. I just can't use the auto-add feature because it only allows for scene content and not interval settings.

To add chapters manually simply use the preview window to locate the position required for a chapter and then click the button on the bottom right of the preview screen. It's the first of the three buttons, Hover your mouse over it and it will say "Add Chapter".

Spec says adding at fixed intervals is available in ver 2.2.
Also jog bar must not be at start or end of clip. Play clip to move bar a bit, then click Auto Add Chapters - a drop down menu then gives you the two options : by scene detect or fix intervals.

This is a feature that was added in a release but I am not having the problem of having to play some of the video in v2.231. I just add the video file and choose Auto Add Chapters->By Fix Interval in Video Tab under the Edit menu.
