inserting time in the timeline

Post by quintalcosta »

How can I insert time in the timeline? I mean, how do I send the whole project to the right, so that I can find space to insert a new clip in the begining of the timeline? (t=0)

Can you help?

I'm using MSP8

Thanks.

You can do it a few ways, depending on whether you have one track, or multiple tracks to move...

Here are two methods (there could be others) -- hover your mouse over the icons above the timeline to see the tooltips for the icons to be used...

1) use "Ripple" -- hit the multi-track ripple icon, then insert a color clip near the beginning. Notice all the tracks will move to the right. Click-drag the right-side of the color clip, and notice the tracks move the same amount. Don't forget to turn off "Ripple" when you are done using it.

2) instead of using "Ripple", click the "Track Selection" tool. Just click-drag a track (all videos to the right of your click point will be selected, and can be moved. if you have multiple tracks to move (i.e. on separate video tracks), then hold the SHIFT key while you click a track. All tracks to the right will be selected and can be moved. Don't forget to go back to CLIP Selection when you are done with track selection...
