You can use the titler, which will accept a txt file (up to 5 kb).

Sometimes I create a still image with the text I want on it, then add it to the "First Play" on the timeline (as a one-slide slideshow)

Regards,
George

What is the best way to create "still image" from text files?
I dit it with photoshop, COPY - PASTE, the result is not so well. The text is misty.

It is better to use a vector graphics app, rather than a bitmap one. I use Corel Draw! in text paragraph mode. Use a fairly uniform sans-serif typeface, such as Arial or Tahoma. Avoid typefaces with serifs, such as Times New Roman or Americana. Avoid, at all costs, those with thin strokes, such as most scripts. Select a paragraph width of, say, 200 mm. When you have composed your text, you then export it to TGA (if you wish a transparent background) or BMP format at 150-200 pixels/inch with anti-aliasing selected. Do not use JPG or GIF. Import it into MSP as an image.

I'd agree with all Devil's said, but I was taught to use 300 pixels per inch for text and good results. It's important to start with the blank canvas already set to this.

Actually, pixels/inch are meaningless unless you specify the paragraph width as well. I'd go for 300 pixels.inch for a 4-6 inch wide paragraph. What you really need is a paragraph width of, say, 1200 to 1800 pixels. Whether this is 15" wide at 100 pixels/inch or 2" wide at 750 pixels/inch is not material. When reduces, with anti-aliasing to 720 or 704 pixels wide, it should look good.
