DVD will not load on player attached to TV

Post by rlleonard »

I am trying to create a DVD with a slide show of photos from my digital camera to play on a DVD player attached to my TV. I used Moveiefactory v4 to create DVD output on a DVD+RW. When I put it in my Toshiba DVD player it just show "loading" and never gets any further. It plays on my computer, so I feel like there is some different paramters that need to be specified to play on a DVD player?

I have not been able to find any specific instructions on creating a photo DVD like this. This is my first time. Any help would be appreciated.

Your Toshiba may not like DVD RW and even object against DVD+. Some players, especially the brand name ones are very picky in what they play. Try a DVD-RW first and, if that doesn't work try normal, non rewriteable media.

Older DVD Player?

What speed DVD did you use? How old is your player? Will it play on a laptop or other computer? Some older players do not like the newer DVDs.

Be careful regarding the speed at which you burn the DVD. To be sure of compatibility across most consumer players, never burn at more than 2x or 4x, even though your disk says it is a 16x disk. Also, as someone has mentioned, DVD-R blanks will work on most if not all DVD players.
MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, VS7, VS10+, VS12, Nero Vision Express. Ricoh and Sony 16x DVD recorder, Sony HC5 High def camera. Also Canopus ADVC110 for AV/DV input through firewire
