Import problems

Post by jake7363u »

Hi,
I ran into a problem with a couple of DVDs I am trying to import. The first one gave some kind of error message about Css, but I was able to import the same DVD in another program without a glitch.

The other DVD shows all the Chapters, along with checkboxes, but when I try to do a preview, nothing happens - no errors, but no movement, either. I tried nudging the arrow on the progress bar, but nothing for any of the chapters. Any help on either of these issues will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Jake

Are these commercial DVDs, a DVD you have previously authored, or from a miniDVD camcorder?

You might try copying the DVD folders to your desktop, then try to import them from there.

They are commercial videos. I will give your suggestion a try.

Thanks.

Commercial DVDs are copyright-protected. Ulead, like the good and legal corporate citizen it no doubt is, does not contain any facility for breaking this copyright protection since it risks falling into the category of piracy. (I am not saying what you are doing is necessarily piracy according to the laws of your contry. But companies like Ulead avoid the possible risk of lawsuits by the copyright holder by simply not allowing the import of copyright material, period.) Of course, as you well know, there are a variety of programs out there, some outright illegal, others in the twilight zone, which will rip copy-protected discs. But Video Studio is not one of 'em.
