To be or not to be....VS10+ or Mediastudio

Post by tommytucker »

upgrading from VS9 to Mediastudio is not a real big leap. Can anyone recommend the best course for going from VS9....a bit more in cost for VS10+ or a bit more for MS? I see many complaints on the VS board for desired features, that may already be in MS...less headaches should be worth the cost?

I've only been here a short while, but I don't see that many feature requests for VS. A few improvements would be nice (I can list a ton of them for MediaStudio also if you like) but that's about it. It depends on what you want as an individual, though.

If you want the features of MediaStudio, but into MediaStudio. If you want the features of VS10, grab that. It's that simple. If VS9 does everything you want, wait and upgrade later. So, try a couple of trials and see where you'd like to go next... if anywhere.

Just so you know- there are as many (if not more) different issues with MediaStudio, so it really is more about getting the program which does a job best, than picking the one with less feature requests :)

MSP is more a prosumer product, with pro-like features, although the differences between MSP 8 and VS 10+ seem to get smaller if I can trust comments made here.

I, for one, have not used VS since version 5 and have not felt the need yet to upgrade from MSP 7.3. It does all I want to do and faultlessly I might add.

If you want mor possibilities with overlay tracks and sound, go for MSP. If all you want to do is edit your footage, trim some clips, put some transitions and titles, VS would be the program for you.
