I have a few Hi8 tapes which I would like to convert to DVD. I do not own a camcorder.
Is it possible to download the tape to my PC without camera, using Firewire or USB port. Is there a hardware to download the Hi8 tape to my PC ?. I have Videostudio 8.

You will need a camcorder to transfer your video to the pc by way of a video card or what I use ADS box to convert analog to digital. ADS has worked very well with VS8.
Because you do not have a camcorder, I would suggest that you borrow one from a friend or relative. In attaining a video card or box is something you will need to invest in. A card or box is needed to capture your video.
