I have a camera setup at the house and while I am at work, I want to periodically check in and see whats going on. The only thing I could think of was Remote Desktop, but when I try to open the Ulead software I get the following error:
Cannot initialize the application.
There are not enough colors in the video display unit to play the video.

I have the resolution and colors set the same on both my home and work computers, so I dont know what the deal is; it plays at the home computer just fine. Can anyone help with this or maybe tell me another way of going about it besides Remote Desktop? I dont want to spend any more money on software if I can help it unless its fairly cheap.
Thanks.

I haven't tried XP's Remote Desktop, but I have checked on lengthy Videostudio renders using TightVNC. TightVNC is just one of several free VNC clients/servers, and there are commercial ones as well.
One nice thing about VNC is that you don't actually need a client application installed to view/control another system -- as long as you have a Java-capable browser, you can connect to the system and manage it.
