Lighting changes on Chrome Letters

Post by gmoses3 »

When creating Chrome 3d letters (as in a title) the title automatically centers. When motion is added the lighting and reflections move and look beautiful. I always need to move the title up to allow for phone numbers etc. The minute I do, the specular highlights change to flat and the overall look has changed. How can I retain the original look?
Thanks

I'm not real coherent with PS3D yet, but my suggestion would be for you to add all the text then add the animation and lighting later. You can select the text you want moving after it's on the screen by using the drop down Object List.

Good luck!

I forgot to mention that I am using the templates test objects.

Oops I meant Text objects. If you start a new project (blank screen) go to objects then text objects. Drag the first Chrome COOL into the project. It centers inself. Now grab the COOL with the mouse and move it up (or anywhere) and you'll see the lighting change. How can you reset it in the new position to look like it started?

You can't move any object and at the same time retain the lighting.
When you move something, the spots light that shine on it act at a different angle, or may even not light the object any more.

The effect is highest on reflective surfaces, like a chrome object.

You have to adjust the lights after placing the objects, as Mathis wrote.
