Trying out Movie Factory 5 and difficulty in Capture Source
Program recognizes my Analog ATI TV-IN (defaults to this immediately)but does not off any choice selection of USB Capture Source from my Betamax. USB Capture is recognized by a couple of other programs I have (SONIC-MYDVD, CYBERLINK-PowerProducer), so it appears to be within the ULEAD program. Couldn't locate anywhere to select preference modification to have it recognize the USB feed.
Any thoughts?

For analog capture, I always recommend using the special capture software that came with your capture hardware.* Once you have a digital file on your hard drive, you can use whatever video editing and DVD authoring software you want.
My theory is that capture drivers are not as standardized as common peripherals like printers. So, some hardware and software just don't work well together.
I'm just guessing, but I'd expect better results with the ATI card (PCI or AGP bus) than with the USB bus.
* If your capture device came with Ulead as well as custom capture software, that doesn't count. The Ulead software was thrown-in as part of the package, but it was not written specifically for your hardware.

Txs DVDDoug . . . That is what I did, tho' in trying to evaluate Movie Factory 5 for my use, was surprised it didn't recognize the USB capture pass thru. Wonder if ULEAD forgot to build this capability (to recognize the USB capture pass thru and not just recognize the ATI - TV Source). Otherwise, seems to me it's quite piecemeal software with some significant limitations.
